Princess Diana  debuted this gown by
Catherine Walker for The British Fashion
Awards in October 1989.  It was held at the
Famed Royal Albert Hall . Diana wore her
hair in a tight French twist on that evening.
The gown was  privately commissioned for
Diana's official visit to Hong Kong in
November 1989.    She accessorized with
her Queen Mary tiara on that occasion as
shown.

The gown, covered with ivory sequins and
beads, was one of the favorites of the
auction which featured many gowns
donated by the Princess as a charity.
Purchased by Franklin Mint, it sold for
$151,000.  It is available in miniature on a
Franklin Mint Porcelain Diana doll.
A second Princess Diana doll was
dressed in this pale blue gown.
